Happy New Year from 127 band from Tehran

news_411838.jpg

As part of US tour, 127, one of Tehran's underground music band performed at Blake's Berkeley California. One may say 127 is a fusion between SKA, Jazz, and Rock, like that they are trying to do a cross over – from Persian/Farsi to English - album, truly impressed with the pianist and really missed their drummer after listening to their CD.

Fifth Iranian-American Persian Day Parade in New York City

Persian-Parade-NY5.jpg

The spring vernal equinox, Norooz, the Persian (Iranian) New Year, celebrated for several millennia in the ancestral motherland, Iran, was once again showcased with an extravagant parade in New York City by Iranian-Americans. Tens of thousands of participants and spectators enjoyed with much nostalgia the procession of beautifully decorated floats, ensembles of dancers and musicians, archaeological perspectives of Persepolis, Passargade, and Tehran's Shahyad monuments, dignitaries and grand marshals, civic leaders, DJs, and the waving American and Iranian flags and banners.

Happy New Year from Darioush winery

duel_bottle1.jpg

The dueling lion and bull is a symbol of harmony and transition during the Persian New Year, No Ruz, the representation of two powerful and opposing forces as they embrace as one on the vernal equinox each spring. Nature’s grace and brute in accord with one another is an apt metaphor for the quality expressed here between Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.

Happy New Year from Shusha Guppy - شيرازی دختر

Shusha_WEBjpg1.jpg

She says

The verb "to love" in Persian is "to have a friend." "I love you" translated literally is "I have you as a friend," and "I don't like you" simply means "I don't have you as a friend."
Of all the musical instruments the human voice is the most beautiful, for it is made by God.  "These are the happiest days of my life"

I need to support the expansion of Iranian.com for helping to keep Shusha and other artists alive on the net.

Happy New Year from Kazakhstan, Roksonaki Music

roksonaky.jpg

More music…

"Roksonaki may be the most interesting avant-garde band to come out of Central Asia since the Soviet Union's collapse in 1991. Bringing the 13th century into dialogue with the 21st, their unique sound fluently and joyfully combines elements of ancient nomadic Kazak traditions -- reed flutes and throat-singing -- with contemporary rock and jazz.

Happy New Year from Shams and Rumi

Everyone sees the unseen in proportion to the clarity of his heart, and that depends upon how much he has polished his heart. Whoever has polished his heart more sees more -- more unseen forms become manifest to him.

باز باز می آيد اين بهار نازنيين ليک ليک نمی آيد اين دور جوانی

هر گه اگر که تنهايی را حس کند باز باز عزيز و عاشق می ماند

Happy New Year from Darius

This country Persia which Ahuramazda gave to me is a good country, full of good horses, full of good men. By the favor of Ahuramazda and of me, king Darius, this country fears no other country.

May Ahuramazda and the gods of the royal house come to my aid. May Ahuramazda protect this country from invaders, from famine, and from the Lie! May there never be upon this country an army, famine, or the Lie! This I pray as a favor from Ahuramazda and the gods of the royal house. May Ahuramazda and the gods of the royal house do me this favor!
