Eugene Middle East Peace Group
This song will be performed LIVE in the Feast for Middle East Peace in Eugene, Oregon on Sunday, April 13 2008, as part of Spring Renewal and Celebration
The song, commissioned by the organization Peace Child Israel, was arranged by Israeli composer, songwriter and singer Shlomo Gronich. Sung in both Hebrew and Arabic, this beautiful, Middle-Eastern melody has the power to heal and transform Arab and Jewish communities.
As part of US tour, 127, one of Tehran's underground music band performed at Blake's Berkeley California. One may say 127 is a fusion between SKA, Jazz, and Rock, like that they are trying to do a cross over – from Persian/Farsi to English - album, truly impressed with the pianist and really missed their drummer after listening to their CD.

The spring vernal equinox, Norooz, the Persian (Iranian) New Year, celebrated for several millennia in the ancestral motherland, Iran, was once again showcased with an extravagant parade in New York City by Iranian-Americans. Tens of thousands of participants and spectators enjoyed with much nostalgia the procession of beautifully decorated floats, ensembles of dancers and musicians, archaeological perspectives of Persepolis, Passargade, and Tehran's Shahyad monuments, dignitaries and grand marshals, civic leaders, DJs, and the waving American and Iranian flags and banners.

The verb "to love" in Persian is "to have a friend." "I love you" translated literally is "I have you as a friend," and "I don't like you" simply means "I don't have you as a friend."
Of all the musical instruments the human voice is the most beautiful, for it is made by God. "These are the happiest days of my life"

A traditional Haft Sin table celebrating Nowruz, the Persian New Year, is seen set Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in the State Dining Room of the White House.
This country Persia which Ahuramazda gave to me is a good country, full of good horses, full of good men. By the favor of Ahuramazda and of me, king Darius, this country fears no other country.
May Ahuramazda and the gods of the royal house come to my aid. May Ahuramazda protect this country from invaders, from famine, and from the Lie! May there never be upon this country an army, famine, or the Lie! This I pray as a favor from Ahuramazda and the gods of the royal house. May Ahuramazda and the gods of the royal house do me this favor!
Obama Statement Commemorating the Persian New Year
On behalf of Michelle and my two daughters, I want to offer my best wishes to you for a happy and prosperous Persian New Year. Nowruz has been celebrated for at least 3,000 years by millions worldwide including over 1 million Iranian Americans in the United States. As I campaign across the country, I am frequently reminded of the tremendous contributions and aspirations of Iranian Americans. Iranian Americans have contributed to the social, economic, and cultural fabric of this nation. Together, we will help write the next chapter of the great American story. It is my great honor to celebrate this Persian New Year with you.

This year, like previous years, many queer Iranians who are seeking asylum will be spending New Year away from their home and families. This year IRQO is working on 80 of those asylum cases. We hope to share this special time with them, and therefore we are asking you to help us bring this gift of joy to their homes.
